Just north of the Peak District lies the North York Moors, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that's often overlooked by tourists. But trust me, this vast expanse of heather-covered moorland, woodland, and picturesque villages is steeped in history and folklore. A visit to the ruined Whitby Abbey, where Bram Stoker's Dracula is said to have been inspired, is a highlight. And the picturesque fishing village of Staithes, with its narrow streets and quaint cottages, is another hidden gem that's just waiting to be discovered.<\/p>\n
Sometimes, the simplest getaways are the most rejuvenating. That's why I love the Isle of Skye, a beautiful island located off Scotland's west coast. The island offers breathtaking landscapes, tranquil beaches, and a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding. A scenic drive along the Trotternish Ridge, with its stunning views of the Old Man of Storr, is a must. And if you're feeling more relaxed, the picturesque village of Portree, with its colourful houses and bustling harbour, is the perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere.<\/p>\n
